The story of Aycan Maritime began in 1988 with the dreams of a young welder working at the Tuzla Shipyards in Istanbul. Over the years, our founder transformed his hands-on experience, discipline, and work ethic into leadership — building his own team and becoming a trusted partner in the shipbuilding industry.
Officially founded in 2008, Aycan Maritime started its operations in a small 100 m² workshop, steadily expanding through persistence and determination. By 2022, the company had grown into a network of four workshops and then evolved into a fully equipped 3,000 m² modern facility, marking a new era in our journey.
Today, Aycan Maritime serves as a reliable manufacturer and fabrication partner for tugboat, yacht, and workboat projects, offering high-quality steel fabrication, pre-fabrication, and outfitting services. For us, success is measured not only by production volume but by integrity, trust, and the respect we hold for our craft.

Aycan Maritime was founded by a craftsman whose life was shaped by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for the sea.
Şükrü Ay began his career in 1988 as a welder in the Tuzla Shipyards Region of Istanbul, where he quickly became known for his commitment, honesty, and respect for his work.
Over the years, he gained hands-on experience in every stage of the shipbuilding industry, mastering his craft through perseverance and discipline.
In 2008, he brought together decades of experience under one name — Aycan Maritime — establishing his own workshop and laying the foundation for what would become a trusted name in marine fabrication.
Since then, the company’s growth has been driven not only by technical expertise but also by a deep respect for people, craftsmanship, and integrity.
Today, Aycan Maritime continues the journey that began with his hard work — guided by a spirit of innovation and a vision for global cooperation.
